Ryan Holmes, CEO
About Ryan
Ryan Holmes is a committed family man. He is committed to his wonderful wife and children, and he is also committed to keeping other families separated.
He also used to be the CEO of Hootsuite, but left that role for the first time in 2019. In an interview with the Financial Post, he said that the decision was definitely about spending time with his family in Mexico and not about the financial performance of the company.
This is definitely something you say when the company failed to sell, and lays off 10% of it’s workforce.
“You Can’t Invent The Future By Bolting On The Past”
It’s crazy that Hootsuite has been using this as a marketing line at the same time that they brought back their old CEO. Like, you realize that he is literally the past?
But here we are: Ryan Holmes back as CEO. I mean, he was a board member for a while so I guess that makes sense.
Within his first 15 days he had a fabulous LinkedIn post about where he thought Hootsuite was and where it was going.
The most important thing to take away from this is that if he was able to figure this out in 15 days, it’s either completely useless or his involvement on the board was so inattentive that it borders and possibly crosses over the line into negligence.
“Inner discovery, outdoor pursuits, future enthusiast.
If you’re looking to get to know the real Ryan Holmes, look no further than his Instagram profile. In his profile photo he sits reclining in a luxury bathtub wearing what looks like a Samsung Gear VR headset from 2016.
We the viewer are forced to gaze upon his naked torso, while he refuses to look back at us. Instead, his eyes are hidden behind a piece of outdated technology
He is both spectacle and intentionally oblivious. The inner discovery focused purely on selfish-pursuits. Despite his wealth and potential influence, his care about the wider world is limited to the ocassional instagram
