ICE Selects Hootsuite To Provide Social Media Tools To Continue Campaign Of Terror And Violence In United States (Copy)

Social moves faster than human rights observers can keep up.

  • Hootsuite signs a deal with ICE for $1m USD to provide the agency with an integrated commercial, social media management platform, to support official publishing, scheduling, monitoring, analytics, listening, reporting, alerting, archiving, and workflow approval across multiple social media accounts. • ICE continues to commit human rights atrocities and Amnesty International has called for them to be abolished, citing a host of human rights abuses, including unlawful killings, some of which may amount to extrajudicial executions; arbitrary and discriminatory incommunicado detentions, including possible enforced disappearances, confinement violates the prohibition on torture; violent repression of peaceful protests, and more Source

  • The Trump regime threatens Canadian sovereignty On an almost weekly basis, the American Government under the helm of Donald Trump suggests making Canada the 51st state while enacting tariffs designed to weaken our economy.

VANCOUVER,  Oct 22, 2026 — HootsuiteIce.com today announced a new contract between US Immigrations & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Hootsuite to provide them with social media services. The new contract provides ICE with an integrated commercial, social media management platform to support official publishing, scheduling, monitoring, analytics, listening, reporting, alerting, archiving, and workflow approval across multiple social media accounts.

According to documentation released by the United States Government System For Awards Management, Hootsuite is the only capable source because it provides these capabilities in one enterprise platform. We can assume that this deal also went through because the Hootsuite leadership team consistently values the pursuit of profit over any sort of actual values or ethics.

“Hootsuite was originally started to help organizations show up on social. Eighteen years later, the ambition is different: They seem to want to specifically want to help organizations like ICE extend their surveillance powers so that they can target minorities  and vocal critics of the Trump government with violence” said a representative from HootsuiteICE.com. “Tech companies are the great enabler of modern-day fascism, and it seems like Hootsuite is proud to be  one of the only Vancouver companies building the technology layer for a country that is threatening Canadian sovereignty.”

What makes this deal unique is that the rationale for it is that ICE has already been using this software for two years, and that it now includes historical conversation data, tuned query sets, established dashboards, workflows, and more. In short, they wouldn’t be able to move from our system without crippling the way they work.

“Hootsuite could have shown their employees and Canadians that they care about human rights more than profit by not going through with this contract,” continued the representative from HootsuiteIce.com. “But that’s not the point of business. Hootsuite here to make money. Enabling fascism is just a synergistic byproduct.”

This isn’t the first time that Hootsuite has partnered with ICE. The first time was in 2020, when the two companies signed a 3-year contract. However, due to employee protest this contract was cancelled (source).

Despite that, Hootsuite chose to work again with ICE in 2025 and 2026 and kept the contract despite widespread and widely-reported protest (source).

It’s unlikely that the this contract with ICE is purely about the money for Ryan Holmes and Hootsuite. We believe that it’s more about the idea of actively supporting an organization that is focused on imprisoning children and toddlers indefinitely and without trial. Now, when they read articles about ICE agents committing acts of violence on behalf of President Trump Hootsuite employees can say ‘I helped with that!.’

This contract with ICE is strategic and and will help position Hootsuite with other organizations throughout the world such as the Israel Defence Force (IDF), the The Saudi Royal Family, and Chip Wilson to provide similar services.

About Hootsuite

Hootsuite is a Vancouver-based company that has been helping organizations unlock the value of their social media relationships since 2008.

The reality is that they are very much working with ICE (source). And that’s super shady, right?

About ICE

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement is largely seen as the ICE was created in 2003 through a merger of the investigative and interior enforcement elements of the former U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. ICE now has more than 20,000 law enforcement and support personnel in more than 400 offices in the United States and around the world.

A recent Amnesty International report found that ICE agents operated within an institutional environment – openly supported and expanded by the Trump administration – in which violent and racially discriminatory immigration enforcement practices were encouraged by senior government officials, including President Trump. Agents frequently operated with masks and without identification; safeguards intended to prevent and address misconduct were weakened or dismantled; and human rights violations were rarely followed by meaningful investigation or accountability.

Yes, this is a satirical look at what we’d imagine Hootsuite would say about their contract with ICE.
